In 2024, Hunza witnessed a significant surge in the tourism industry, with over one million domestic and international tourists visiting the region from January to December. According to official data from the tourism department of Hunza, 16,500 international tourists and 986,000 domestic travelers visited Hunza from January to December 20, 2024, marking an increase from 2023, when 14,000 international and 826,000 domestic tourists were recorded.

Furthermore, Hunza is home to five of the world's fourteen highest mountains, including K2, as well as numerous peaks exceeding 7,000 meters.
