Fairy Meadow: A Heaven On Earth

Why Fairy Meadows is a Must-Visit Destination

Fairy Meadows appears to have come straight from a fairy tale. The majestic Nanga Parbat, the ninth-highest mountain in the world, dominates the landscape, which is surrounded by wildflowers and dense pine forests. The view of the sunrise and sunset here is something you’ll remember for a lifetime.

For those who love hiking, Fairy Meadows offers one of the most scenic treks in the world.  The journey begins at Raikot Bridge, where you'll take a bumpy jeep ride to Tato Village. From there, a 3-4 hour trek leads you to Fairy Meadows.  The trail is moderate, making it perfect for both beginners and experienced hikers.

Fairy Meadows remains tranquil and unspoiled in contrast to crowded tourist destinations. There’s no noise pollution—just the sound of the wind, birds, and flowing water.  It is the ideal spot to reconnect with nature and escape the outside world. Under the stars, camping in the open air is one of the best things about this place. Numerous stars can be seen in the night sky if there isn't much light pollution. It's pure magic to sit by a bonfire, sip tea, and look at the Milky Way. For the more adventurous, a trek to Nanga Parbat Base Camp (Beyal Camp) is a challenging but rewarding experience.  The trail takes you through glaciers and rocky terrain, offering jaw-dropping views of the mountain.

When to Go to Fairy Meadows

From May to September, when the weather is pleasant and the meadows are in full bloom, is the best time to visit. Winters are extremely chilly, and there is a lot of snow, making it hard to get around.

How to Get There

By air: Take a flight to Islamabad and then drive to Chilas or Gilgit. By road: Take a jeep from Chilas to Tato Village, where you can trek to Fairy Meadows.
